From what you describe, it seems to assume that they are dead. However, the ladypot thing seems to be about their bodies having been so heavily modified that they easily fit into these pots alive and well.
As I understand it, the idea behind this fetish is that it takes the objectification of the female body to the absolute extreme, reducing them just to their sexy bits and leaving them fully dependant on someone else for survival.
