If an unskippable ad shows up anywhere I will avoid looking (and listening, if I can help it) by either doing something else until I feel that it may be done, or I shall cover the screen except for a small area that might allow me to see that the add is over.
I shall not be subjected to your conditioning, foul corporations and celebrities!

This is why I avoid watching YT on any device other than my P.C.

I mean, on mobile you can just easily exit and close the video then open it again in History, that's what I do all the time. Or use the "!" and choose "Block Ads". The latter is more of a bandage method but at least it gets rid of the Ads right at that moment.

I just zone out staring at the corner where I press skip. I don't even register the ad.

I never use the app. I just use my phone browser. I do not regret the adblock I use because of the utter trash that advertisers were trying to sell.

I make a note of who buys ads on Youtube and I make sure to boycott them. It doesn't help that ads are so much louder than the actual videos, too.
