Who else looked at this and developed a desire for a magical girl-based Ace Combat-style game, where the girls engage in epic dogfighting and aerial spellfights with flying monsters and magitek war machines?

Sorry, I don't follow that series closely, so I wasn't even aware of this new spinoff. From a quick googling, it's probably as close as we can get. No giant monsters, though. And probably no dogfighting, just spellcasting and hack-and-slash from how the screenshots look.

Oh please no. Looking at this, I have flashbacks of Bayonetta's chapter 14 (which is exactly "aerial fights with flying monsters") and almost started feeling nauseous again from all these barrel rolls.
What's that about anyway? I don't know what the AEDR stands for, and Erika and Arthur's outfits look like a reference to something I'm curious about now.

EADR stands for Eliminations, Assists, Deaths, and Revives.

Right, and I should have just applied some basic research from the beginning: The logo on Sophie's box is for "The Finals", some FTP FPS. Erika and Arthur's outfits seem to be something you probably could customize for your character, but not something that actually means anything. I just thought they looked neat.
