rex (ace combat)

The player character in Ace Combat 8. Rex is a pilot from the Federation of Central Usea Air Force rescued after his aircraft was downed before the start of the game, and initially assigned as the WSO for Commander Jan Cope, who held the "Rex" callsign only to be shot down and killed by Shadow 22. Inheriting the late Cope's callsign, Rex assumes the role of the titular Wings of Theve to maintain morale, living up to it and leading Joker Flight of the FCU Endurance in the face of Sotoa's aggressive pilots and potent superweapons.
