A creature with the head of a bull (or cow) on the body of a human. Originated from Greek Mythology as a unique creature, but was later depicted as an entire species in fantasy media.
For characters with bovine traits (e.g. cow horns, cow ears, cow tail), but whose heads are otherwise human, see the cow girl or cow boy tags.
Japanese folklore's respective version is the gozuki (ox head demon). Along with the mezuki (horse head demon), they are generals that guard the gates of hell in both Japanese and Chinese mythology.
