An arrow with a perforated hollow bulb attached to the head so that it makes a whistling sound when fired.
It is historically by nomadic peoples in the Eurasian Steppe and the Japanese samurai and is still currently used in Yabusame where it is called Kabura-ya.
A whistling arrow can be fitted with an arrowhead such as a forked arrowhead. Otherwise, it acts as a blunt arrow.
