Sequel to Final Fantasy X and first direct sequel to any entry in the Final Fantasy series by Square Enix. Released on the Sony PlayStation 2 in Japan in 2003 and elsewhere in 2004. Most characters from FFX reprise their roles in FFX-2, so many character entries overlap for both games.
The original release featured three playable characters. The Japanese-only Final Fantasy X-2: International + Last Mission release and later HD versions introduce Creature Creator which allows monsters, and characters from FFX and FFX-2 as AI-controlled party members.
