I think I've read a sci-fi story with pretty much this plot
I remember one like that where the guy, instead of seeing objects, see stuff like "WALL, 2 meters tall, used to provide shelter" and so on. The novel ends as he look at his reflection in the mirror. "HUMAN, 1m55, used to detect programming bugs."
Is this a reference to something? a movie i haven't seen? a manga i haven't read? or maybe its just from that one scene from Robocop 2 where they have that criminals brain in that jar looking thing, but in that scene, that brain had eyes attached to it.

This is an original character inspired by a wordplay on “Habatan,” the mascot of Hyogo Prefecture, Japan, and “Bahamut” from the video game series Final Fantasy. The character reimagines Habatan as Bahamut, playing on the similar sounds of “Haba” and “Baha.”
I'm not fully versed in Death Note lore, does it still count even if you don't finish spelling it? Is there a chance she didn't think of her face when writing it?

Technically, she already finished writing her actual name. She just didn't finish the -chan honorific.
The spirit of the rule is to ensure you kill a specific person, rather than someone random who happens to have the same name. Considering she also wrote her year and class number, and she likely wasn't thinking of any other Zetsubou-chans, it likely narrowed it down to her. Does she literally have to think of her own face while writing it? Probably to make it work, yeah. Did she do so at any point during the moment she was writing? Who knows? I think it's likely it at least flashed in her mind even if for a brief moment, and that's probably good enough.
Now, if we wanted to nerd out over this more, if you take this series to be a self-contained universe rather than a series of one shot gag comics, than we know she survived to adulthood. So we know she wasn't killed by the Death Note, or if she was then she was somehow revived later, barring clones and whatnot. Although considering the ditto comic (post #9274456), that might not be farfetched. In fact, considering the brain in a vat comic (post #9208565), she may very well be in a simulation that allows her to die repeatedly so it really isn't out of the question for her to die here yet still reappear later on.
After the Day I had been homeless for a couple of months. During autumn I did meet that wolf-boy and became good friends with him. Yes. finally it came to that... he always did pull back in time. Then winter came... it was cold in the empty streets. We were always struggling to survive, find a place out of the cold, or when in bad luck, at least out of the cold winds.
Then that night, finding only a shelter from the wind in an empty alley. We made love again... and it were my words. "Please... don't pull out. Knot me this time, and cum inside me deep..." We forgot the cold, we forgot the rules. It was so good. Those thrusts of him, first slowly, then faster... feeling him pushing, my pussy accepting his knot, willingly, bound our bodies for a moment, until a warmth took over my body and mind, make me sigh "Yes!"
Accepting him in me was also accept the creating and growing of his offspring in me... which I loved so well to let it happen. We then did it more often, our 'warming-up moments'. Then spring did came, we left the town. Outside we did found us an empty little house, left by it's former occupants. We both did watch me grow... until in late of summer I gave birth to twins, a girl looking so much like me, and a boy, looking so much at the daddy, with also such a sweet tail.
We did find out, later, girls stayed in their human forms while boys did grow into human animals.
