A boss-caliber randomly-encountered rare enemy in the Flying Fortress of Final Fantasy I.
Known as the Death Machine in Japanese and the GBA localization. Renamed for NES due to character limits and kept in all retranslations (except GBA) due to its iconic status.
An enemy based on Warmech appears in the SaGa series as Machine/WarMach. It is referenced in Final Fantasy XIV as Death Machines.
