gundam

A very popular and long lasting mecha media franchise created by Tomino Yoshiyuki and Sunrise in 1979.

Because of its popularity and longevity, the GUNDAM franchise is often considered the Japanese Star Wars (and Star Trek).

For the first Gundam show by Tomino, see Mobile Suit Gundam.
