A costume in the shape of a tree. A frequent comedy trope in both anime and Western cartoons, the tree costume is often given to a character who wants to be in a stage play but isn't a good enough actor for a proper role, so instead they're given a role as a tree and told to simply stand there.

For a character dressed as a Christmas tree, see Christmas tree costume instead.
