A purpose-built course for car or motorcycle racing, usually with seating for fans to watch. For racetracks built specifically for horse racing, see horse racing track. For the type of track used for track and field events, see running track.

Motorsport tracks are typically paved, though dirt tracks for rallycross, motocross, and certain stock cars are also used. Horse racing tracks are always dirt-based, with some tracks (such as those in Europe and Japan) also having grass surfaces.
