Spikes of light reflecting off a shiny object, commonly a polished or metal object such as jewelry or a sword.
Not to be confused with sparkle, which is usually associated with non-realistic stylized sparkles coming off a character, or diffraction spikes, which is a photographic effect similar to a lens flare.
