I think most viewers can't recognize her because of the eyes too. The original are more rounded and gentle, while here they are more sharpened.

As a girl who has hair like her's I understand. Honestly with hair like that it would probably take HOURS to straighten it, AND if you just get it wet will curl up all over again. Humidity would make it curl too.

Same diff between Kallen with her innocent school girl hairstyle vs her normal hair.

Asians have typically naturally straight hair though. So I'm pretty sure she had a perm.
