I really enjoy translating this series, especially when I get to deliver cool lines like this.
Sorry for being a little late to the party (I only happened to stumble across this pool by accident off of the "Epic Nosebleed" pool), but I want to throw in my own appreciation to you (and the other translators of the various doujins) for taking the time out for this. This doujin, especially, must be hard to translate.
Thank you on my behalf and, if I can, on behalf of the various other translators on this giant pool.
It certainly was difficult sometimes. Other times I was just on crack. I hope at this point that nearly all of my translations are relatively close to the actual meaning. But what can you do.
One thing that kind of surprises me is that nobody grabbed this doujinshi up from where I was crawling along with it at 1-2 pages per day.
I really liked it, and it actually deals with what happens after Haruhi learns about some paranormal phenomenon, which fffff is kind of the most annoying thing about the series. I really hate that every fanfic or doujinshi sticks to the novels' rule of "Don't push the obvious giant red button." Have Haruhi learn everything! What's the worst that could happen? Isn't that exactly the most interesting thing in the series?
Also, the gender change element was pretty cool and well thought out (speaking as someone who is a genderbending fan to a scary degree).
So I guess what I'm saying is, I wonder why nobody took it and ran with it. Is it a matter of professional etiquette as a scanlator, and they just wanted to let me do my slow, slow thing?
