Just no, Marisa. Touhou, bullet, and explosions does not associate in this way.

I see that ISIS have successfully made people resent anything related to Arabic or Islam, eh.. In a sense, this is just like Our Father prayer for the Christian, or Heart Sutra for the Buddhist.. There's nothing wrong with the words, it's a holy prayer..

But, the people who made the words seems evil, who try to justify all heinous act with the name of God, could just kindly retire from being a human, because what makes human distinctly different from beasts are our capability to think and our conscience.. Those who can't think for their own, have no conscience or inflicting unnecessary pain upon others for whatever your holier-than-thou goals, please, you're tarnishing human's name..

(I don't really like talking about this subject, but i see more and more people are getting more singular minded in such matter.. I need to wake people up, and make them think for themselves, see for themselves, before judging something.. Because that's what it meant to be a human, and life peacefully..)

Actually, no one here has yet to post any comments putting down Islam/Muslims. I think the denizens of Danbooru take a sarcastic view towards anything relating to real-world politics and are much more likely to make jokes rather than say anything hateful.

What pisses me off is product companies that have "ISIS" in their name feel forced to change it. "ISIS Pharmaceutical" has nothing to bloody do with Islamic State!

    *coughs* Sorry, anyways.

You guys are right.. I apologize for my overly fiery and out of placed comment earlier.. But at the same time, i'm honestly relieved that Cardboard denizens are more open minded than the people i usually see.. I need to get those words out of my system, because it frustrated me to see the people around me are too thick-headed to see for themselves, and such words from a mere single man would just fall upon deaf ears.. Once again, i apologize, and thank you for reading and responding to my heart's cry..

I'm surprised by the reaction and score to these images. I thought the Danbooru community is easier for such jokes and like them.

While there are many sects of Islam as there are Christianity, the most notable that are not officially recognized (unfortunately) are the traditionalists and the neo-islamic followers. Traditionalists would fall under the OPFOR in the middle east (including ISIS) and all the sleeper cells we have caught throughout the years in the US who came through our southern border (and I am sure there were plenty who were caught in europe). These people have no tolerance of any other religion, and demand a crusade until they are the last ones standing. Their very existence is jealousy of the rest of the free world's fruits.

The others are the "radicals" but not in the sense that we would think from the media. These are people who actually are religious for the actual reason of religion, to establish and unite people under a philosophy and set of ethics. They do not exist for war, but for moral order. I think everyone is tolerant of Islam, but only if they are willing to publicly denounce the insurgency in the middle east. While the neo-islamic followers rightfully claim that they are peaceful, I believe it is a very weak statement that is overshadowed by the traditionalists who claim to be peaceful then attack our own. I think if more organizations here become more vocal about measures to resist and destroy ISIS and all other traditional islamic threats, more people will have less of a need to be on guard against the islamic religion.

This image was probably approved under some misguided sense of "tolerance" (tolerance for an organization that is intolerant is in fact, intolerance). It should not be here, where we come to enjoy art and anime-themed works.

I see, but why not to enjoy such jokes? Is it only because ISIS (or others) a tumor, poisoning the modern world, thus give a bad mood to us, or what? By that logic similar jokes about Third Reich, militarist Japan or Communism then (or today, what's the difference?) are not fully acceptable, however many of it was popular during WW2 and Cold War in the west.

I understand that it's a bit black humor, slightly increases the degree of hate, but the main idea of these pictures is a Marisa in image of terrorist or militant rebel, an ISIS flag reference is only setup for the joke. In other picture additional idea about "idiot state" by (9) on the flag. However, ISIS reference made people worry, remember their terror, war they involved and indulge in speculation about it, causing negative emotions and does not allow to see the joke. To put it simply, it causes fear. Is it that what they trying to achieve?

    Or I misunderstood something?

Probably because this is an ongoing threat and many people are suffering because of it? Mainly the ongoing part I guess.

What I am missing is the joke behind this picture. Not trying to sound like I'm putting you down or anything but I really don't see the connection between Marisa and ISIS, unless ISIS at one point said something along the lines like "What's your's is mine, and what's mine is still mine."

Yeah, there is no. Actually, it's not even a joke, the artist has placed the character in an alternative context just for fun. It's like random crossovers or fusions, but taken from real life.

Oh, I see now. I didn't see the (9) flag in the child post. This probably is satire then might be fine for danbooru. This image on it's own though, doesn't give much hint to it's light hearted nature. Zaregoto though, does have a point that even if this is intended to be humorous, it is very weak and low quality which some probably could argue makes it unfit for this website. The score seems to reflect that, but I guess until someone flags this, it will stay.

People reacting to the (potential) propaganda of their enemy is totally normal, it would in fact be irrational to not react at all and instead pretend that such a threat does not exist. The goal of terrorism is not necessarily fear, it is coercion. Without going into the whole counter-terrorism doctrine, the purpose of a "terrorist" is to add a physical element to a weaker political force. Essentially to say "better surrender to our political demands or you will have to answer to these guys..." The quickest way to end terrorism is to kill off all of the enemy's messengers and figureheads. With no one to establish the power "secured" by the terrorists, the conflict ends at a stalemate where the leaders soon leave the organization as to stay become public marks their death sentence. Negotiation never works, and we have seen such results in the past decades. This is also the reason why Russia has a much lower rate of islamic attacks vs "negotiating" factions like the US or UK.

I agree about that post, but not parent.

One of the reason that I uploaded parent, because artist don't really care about properly publish her (?) works on special sites. She (?) post only several of them on pixiv, other works (and sketches) was posted in random Russian touhou communities, small personal community, imageboards and generally behaves semi-anonymous, so posts are lost in the feed. And the Russian internet media space very "unstable" at all: many anime/art communities closes by the request of Roskomnadzor or by creators "just in case". So I uploaded parent first of all because I just felt sorry that the pretty high quality militant Marisa image (It's that, right?) not hosted properly and may be lost. This post I uploaded as bonus-sketch because of the same reference and I am OK if it will be deleted, but I think it would be ridiculous if parent will delete because of the fact that someone does not like ISIS reference.

Oh god I can't into English tenses of verbs...

Maybe I'm not understanding this correctly, but are you saying that this was uploaded here because the artist was afraid the Russian censors would take it down?

Regardless, I'm fine with the picture being here (cause I'm an anti-censorship weirdo) but I think the artist needs to think about how distasteful the image rather than defensively arguing that its "just a joke".

No, it seems artist doesn't even care about life of her works. But I do.

Generally, when she tries, she got very high-quality work, ie she clearly has the drawing experience and I have a feeling that I had seen works once with such style, but I could not find any.

I also forgot to say, that's these images are references to the collages crossovers with ISIS in very weird part of touhou-community which began to appear when community found nasheed "Sirna" (pronounced very similar to "Сырно"/"Cirno" in Russian) and when appeared ISIS-chan in east.

Here example collages. Please DO NOT click the links if you are not good with blood, violence and terrorism.
