Are you literate in Japanese or do you use a third party translator?
I've been studying Japanese for over 20 years, and while I'm not fluent in reading, I know enough to know how the grammar works and how to look up the various Kanji (by recognizing some of them outright or by being able to look them up by the radicals that constitute them). So apart from grammar which is exceptionally complex/convoluted or very bad handwriting, I can translate pretty much anything. It just takes a while since I have to first transcribe the sentences, which is a lot easier now that Google Lens does this (although it still has errors or doesn't find anything, so I'm sometimes forced to due it manually myself). Then I have to translate the sentence literally into English. And lastly, I have to convert that sentence into something that sounds alright to an Anglophone, which takes a lot of creativity sometimes, and often involves the context of nearby sentences that occur elsewhere in the comic. Additionally, stylizing the notes often takes more time than the translation itself, especially when working with embedded notes.
