~A Post-Creation Discussion by the "Gensou no Mori" Team~
Yanase: "This was our very first piece, wasn't it?!"
Genmu: "The project that started it all for 'Gensou no Mori', brings back memories. Does it feel embarrassing looking at it now?"
Yanase: "...Of course! (Instant reply)"
Genmu: "True... it’s from quite a long time ago, after all (laughs). For my 'Flame Demon', I used Painter, what about you, Yanase-san?"
Yanase: "I used Photoshop for mine! Hahaha... (stares off into the distance)"
Genmu: "Well then, shall we point out some things we like about them?"
Yanase: "Personally, I think the color balance turned out quite well! ^^;"
Genmu: "As for me, the head..." "I was able to draw the outfit exactly as I’d imagined it, so I’m quite happy with how it turned out."
Yanase: "Wow, that’s impressive, looks really cool! (laughs)"
Yanase: "So, what are some things you’d like to improve on?"
Genmu: "I didn't layer the colors enough, so the overall palette feels a bit 'light'. Since I’m using Painter, I think I could have gone for some 'heavier' tones. Also, the feet look like they’ve been cut off, oops! (self-critique)"
Yanase: "The feet, huh? (laughs) Well, you’d really have to look closely to notice that! (laughs)
As for me... my figure drawing just isn't up to scratch. That’s the main thing. (stares off into the distance)"
Genmu: "Well, compared to how we draw now, the way we stylized the human form back then does look a bit off, doesn't it?
Let’s both keep doing our best!"
