It's actually more favorable for you to let it stay in the queue and expire automatically. If it's manually deleted, it will take up five slots for those three days instead of just one slot.
I'm fine with showing mercy this time and approving it. The parent was uploaded by a Contributor so I imagine the both of you found the posts at the same time and the time difference was just due to being a bit slower to tag it, so it understandably wouldn't show up in the Similar tab.
