A wizard can't give birth to a mudblood by definition. If she mates with a muggle, their child will be a halfblood.

Half-bloods are sometimes thought of as mudbloods. Harry is a half-blood because his mother was muggle born. Having muggle ancestry is the main thing.

I.e. Voldemort is a half-blood.
