If anyone can attest, do they taste better or any different at all compared to normal watermelon or the shape is simply jsut a novelty thing?
Most of the time, they are sold under-ripe cause they can only get soo big since the molds are made only so big. Buy they are expensive, so its mostly a status symbol to say you can waste money as a gift for someone.
Its kinda the same as buying someone those sculptured fruit gift baskets, its either old fruit or under-ripe cause the sculptures need more sturdy fruit that can sit still without being too soft. Overly expensive but you are showing off you have money to burn.
