How do people get into vtubers when the risk of graduation always hangs over their heads like the sword of Damocles? I know the answer is that the joy of having experienced them is a worthy tradeoff for the pain of losing them, but I don't feel that at all. Or do they simply not think of that like a reveler not thinking of the hangover tomorrow morning? Or have they just numbed themselves to the pain like a sadomasochist? Or do they tell themselves that they will reincarnate some time in the future? Or perhaps the ephemera (もののあはれ) is part of the appeal. Perhaps some things are not meant to be gotten but rather felt.

By accepting that everything is transient. As a once-great game said: "nothing is true, everything is permitted". The meaning of this is that civlizations are built on sand, and can easily sink in and be forgotten. Such is life, nothing lasts forever, everything will eventually disappear. Except taxes. And Winrar's trial period. But everything else? Vtuber? Games? Friends? Lovers? Wife? Parents? Eventually, they will all leave. Only by accepting that life is beautiful because it is short, can you appreciate it. After all, a flower that is blooming every day loses its appeal. Eating burgers every day makes them lose their taste. Things are only beautiful because you have to seek them out and make the effort of appreciating them. Stopping during a bicycle run to take a look at a flower on the side of the road. Trying a new spice in your hot chocolate, and that exotic cinnamon taste reminding me of playing games during your summer holidays. Letting out a fart and remembering that one time you farted on your big brother's pillow and laughed to yourself as you heard him later scream "why does this smells like ass?!"
This is why a flower is beautiful, but a picture of a flower doesn't have the same appeal. You have to see it, with our own eyes. See it flutter in the summer breeze while the hot wind slightly scorches your skin, with sweat dripping down your forehead. Everything is part of the experience. And over time, memories will remove the bad (the mosquitoe, the heat, the thirst), and you'll only remember that little flower by the dirt road that was so singularily beautiful that it stopped you.
