Holy shit, what happened to Kogasa? Also, nice art.
Karakasas are umbrella youkais that are meant to have only one eye and one leg. ZUN played with that design by having Kogasa be dressed in blue and give her one red eye. Kinda like Utsuho, as a yatagarasu, was meant to have three legs, but ZUN played with that to give her two legs, and a "third leg" stuck to her arm.
To put it simply, this is how Kogasa would've been if her design was closer to the legends of yore. And also I think there's something about blacksmiths being one-eyed, but this part eludes me a bit, I'll let another add to it if there's indeed something to it.
PS: I found a picture of a "real" karakasa, as accurate as it can get since we're talking about mythical creatures, slightly more elusive than a honest politician.
