    The file size doesn't actually matter, but the discrepancy does line up with the fact that this image has more visible artifacts despite having a larger resolution. Numerically, the quality values on https://duplicatebooru.zipfiled.info/ show 85 for this image and 99 for the other image.

    Oops, I just swapped them right before reloading and seeing your comment. I'll swap it back then, if it has more artefacts. Those weren't visible on my devices when I tried comparing before uploading. I'll take note of this site. Thanks!

    I didn't say anything about which one should be the parent. I actually think the one with the larger resolution should be the parent, as resolution usually takes priority over image artifacts. The guidelines are listed in help:post_relationships.
