Deprecate doppelganger

i don't think the concept is redundant since clone has to be the same character and look-alike has to be a crossover, so there is no tag for a character just meeting a doppelganger.

like i could tag post #11721964 with it since it's a character and their body double

tag is still a mess though and needs to be gardened.

I don't see why look-alike absolutely needs to be only for crossovers. Seems like an arbitrary requirement to narrow its usefulness. It could make it easier to search for characters within a single copyright who look alike without being related.

But the main problem with doppelganger is that it doesn't have a definition, it just lists a bunch of other tags without justifying its own existence.

It seems like you could probably change the name of the current look-alike tag to something like crossover look-alike and then look-alike could be used generally.
Edit: Actually, it appears that isn't a strict definition, it's just one of most common cases and the first thing listed in the wiki.

However, I think the word doppelganger carries a horror/imposter/monster connotation which is what the definitions in its wiki without any tags cover. We don't have an imposter tag and if there were a monster/creature tag, doppelganger would probably be the name.

For another example, post #10986315 as well as shapeshifter* which captures a lot of Dungeon Meshi posts where Doppelganger would be appropriate. There's a barren shapeshifter (creature) tag, but I don't think it'd be great as just shapeshifter doesn't imply impersonation.

Tried to make a more narrow and proper definition and do a bit of gardening. Tried to make it focus on the main doppelganger activity of encountering somebody that looks like yourself. Tell me if there's any issues.

While gardening, there were a lot of dark Ultraman clones that would qualify for Dark Persona and seems to be what the tag was standing in for for all those posts. There's also some canon tagging of some characters that are doppelgangers/shapeshifters, but not actively doing so in any capacity.

The reason I used the doppelganger tag for certain evil/fake Ultramen is because, well, some of 'em aren't just simple dark-colored clones of the heroes, but are also evil aliens disguising as said heroes, hence the slight differences on their designs. Like, for example: Imitation Ultraman Dyna. Notice the pointy tips on his feet and his slightly baggy eyes, when compared to the real Dyna.

When I first posted some fake Ultramen pics here, I wasn't too confident in using the dark persona tag for certain characters, so I just used the doppelganger tag instead, even though the real Ultras are not present in those pics. I know it misses the whole point of the tag, but still.
