I said nothing about merit, and obviously I'd have to speculate since I wasn't there, so I'd not like to. But if you were to insist, then if such projectile confrontations are a frequent occurrence for you, maybe you were discussing transsexualism or other politics beforehand. If it was a single occurrence, then it could be anything from transitioning to making pancakes, but it wouldn't very be indicative of a wider pattern.

I mean, you said yourself that you didn't think it was "black and white," and that you've never seen trans discrimination. What do you mean, when you say that it wasn't "black and white"? Do you think that talking about being transgender is sufficient to make having things thrown at me a morally complex choice, rather than a simple act of violence? Do you feel that having something thrown at me for talking about being transgender would not be an act of discrimination? If not, what do you mean by things not being "black and white"?

What do you mean, when you say that it wasn't "black and white"?

I've not said that. I said "it seems improbable that it's all so black and white", and I was referring to what sounded like a broader pattern of aggressive conflicts, not a single incident.

No, I was thinking that such conversations can easily spiral into heated tempers. Just consider this "so what you're saying is" rhetoric we have right here as an example.

You could for example not be as innocent as you portray yourself as. Insults, threats, harassment are possibilities. Also violence.
But "it seems improbable", not impossible that you were incontrovertibly innocent in the matter and the other party incontrovertibly solely guilty. I'd simply not accept your word alone on the matter, and I don't think you should care so much about a stranger on the internet not automatically believing your anecdote about getting an unspecified object thrown at you unprovoked this one time. I don't think it's that important, not nearly as much the broader patterns of violent crime involving trans people you stopped addressing.
Do you still think trans people are particularly frequently victims of violent crime, and if so, why? [Edit] Besides undocumented personal experience.

I don't know if you recognize how outrageously disingenuous you come off when your twin positions here are that pointed questions about the genuine implications of your rhetoric are the result of "heated tempers", but you yourself are free to make whatever insinuation about the other person, the only basis of which you have is that it would be a convenient thing for you rhetorically if it were true.

You surely know that people are subject to discrimination. You know violence against the innocent happens. You have absolutely no reason to insinuate that someone who says they were a victim must have done something to deserve it, other than that it would make you feel comfortable that they did. I highly encourage you to stop the conversation in general if you can't see passed that, but at least stop doing this particular thing.

Well, you seemed like you might be angry. You seem so now.

You asked me to speculate what I thought might have lead to thrown objects. I'd been trying to avoid that until then, and I said I didn't like it.

I don't think you making pancakes and being attacked for it would be convenient for me in any way. Nor would it in any meaningful way be convenient to me if you get into fights with people IRL. I find nothing about this matter convenient.

Yes, and I also know that people can lie about these things. I could list a few well-known examples.

"Must have done something to deserve it" and saying "it doesn't sound like the whole truth" are not the same: The latter leaves room for a very broad range of possibilities, including me being wrong. But people exaggerate and embellish to make themselves look better in their stories all the time, and I don't know you or whether you're a exception.
Claiming victimhood does not mean everyone is required to believe you. Feminists tried that tack with "believe all women". It only contributed to their continuous loss of credibility.

Speculative ad hominem. I can point to a few reasons, like having a basic skepticism about the stories people tell on the internet. And I have explained to you why I think this particular sort of story seems unlikely: That I'm the kind of person you might expect to act like a stereotypical bigot, and that I wouldn't because there's simply no good reason to, even if I disapprove of your life choices. And that you still haven't even told the story besides in oblige references is not very convincing either, it kind of makes it seem like you want to tell it in a way that suggests a particular narrative, but without directly lying.

Karesh said:

Give me a reason to. Actually, on reflection, you have. This conversation is going nowhere and isn't very interesting, I don't care about the time someone threw something at your head, and you won't address the other points of our conversation that seem far more worth discussing. So I guess we'll stop.

[edit] Oh wait, I just realized this wasn't Verifiably. Well that's just embarrassing. Just pretend I was talking about the right person at the right parts of this fucking novel of a reply.

I'm not going to bother with anything else. I'm not her, and not angry. It's just disappointing that you're so committed to viewing other people this way and so incapable of looking at yourself before speaking to others.

How come stuff like this gets approved while western comics are in limbo

I don't know why you'd place Western comics higher than this. Western comics may be allowed here, but Danbooru is still primarily for anime/manga-related content.

Also, this post wasn't approved. It was uploaded by a Contributor, so it skipped the modqueue.
